BACKGROUND
Stockport was honoured with the status of Greater Manchester’s Town of Culture 2023/24. This provided amazing opportunities to get the public involved and celebrate the arts and creativity throughout the borough.
THE CHALLENGE
Our brief was to create a brand identity, website presence and supporting promotional collateral through which to communicate and celebrate this prestigious award.
The branding needed to reflect the positive, inclusive and cultural nature of the programme of events.
OUR APPROACH
We created a distinctive, energetic identity based upon the programme’s four strands of the year of culture;
MOVES – celebrating creativity
SOUNDS – celebrating and promoting music and spoken word
MOVES – promoting opportunities to be more active
TASTES – celebrating and promoting food and drink
Dynamic shapes representing each of these strands were incorporated into the logo which could then be used as brand assets to reflect the vibrant and energetic nature of the programme of events.
